The legal documents required for a wedding in Costa Rica are:
Groom and Bride: Full name, date and place of birth, age, citizenship, nationality, occupation, passport number and photocopy of passport, address, marital status, parents’ names and nationality. The constancy of birth and marital status must be authenticated by the Consul of Costa Rica. In case of widow (er) or divorced (a) must include the name of ex-spouse if divorced (a) enter the place and date of divorce.
Legal Witnesses: Two witnesses are required with the following information: full name, marital status, profession, nationality, passport number and place of residence.
Note: the documentation of the marriage at the registry office takes about 2 months. The attorney will mail the certificate authenticated by the consulate of their home countries in Costa Rica.
